TheStorez.com bookstore is offering this book free to its customers as of now. See more here.
An extract from page 17 of the book: “The ability to speak well is not very difficult to acquire. It is not as though it is a gift endowed by Providence on a chosen few with innate intelligence. It is simply like the ability to play a game. So, any man or woman can develop hs or hew own latent capacity, if only he or she has a burning desire to do so. The presence of a large number of people before the speaker should be taken to be a challenge and a simulant. It is enough if feels and acts confidently. Professor William James advises thus: “To feel brave, act as if we were brave; use all of your will to that end; a courage-fit will very likely replace the fit of fear…..”

Hurray, we now have 1,00,000 books!
Last year around this time, we started with few thousands of books on our website. Since then, our team had been spending a lot of time, traveling to book fairs, talking to publishers, book suppliers and importers to see how we can get more books for our customers. This month, we reached a significant milestone. We now have 1,00,000 books on our bookstore and we are so happy to share it with you! This includes books from fiction, general, non-fiction, management, select imported books, children’s books, technical and professional books, computer books, and much more. Which means, its very likely our customers will now find the books they are looking for.
At the same time, we also understand, that with more than 2 million books actively available in print and stock with stockists worldwide, we still have a long way to go before we can be rest assured that the customer need not look elsewhere in search of a book. Before the same time next year, we hope to have crossed that milestone as well. So, here we go in search of a million books now. And yes, we also wonder if we actually require one year for this…

…’And as for this book,’ said Hermione, ‘The Tales of Beedle the Bard… I’ve never even heard of them!’
‘You’ve never heard of The Tales of Beedle the Bard?’ said Ron incredulously. ‘You’re kidding, right?’….From Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows
The Tales of Beedle the Bard, a Wizarding classic, first came to Muggle readers’ attention in the book known as Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. Now, thanks to Hermione Granger’s new translation from the ancient runes, we present this stunning edition with an introduction, notes, and illustrations by J. K. Rowling, and extensive commentary by Albus Dumbledore. Never before have Muggles been privy to these richly imaginative tales: -The Wizard and the Hopping Pot -The Fountain of Fair Fortune -The Warlock’s Hairy Heart -Babbitty Rabbitty and Her Cackling Stump -The Tale of the Three Brothers.
The stories are accompanied by delightful pen-and-ink illustrations by Ms.Rowling herself, featuring a still-life frontispiece for each one. Professor Dumbledore’s commentary — apparently written some eighteen months before his death — reveals not just his vast knowledge of Wizarding lore, but also more of his personal qualities: his sense of humor, his courage, his pride in his abilities, and his hard-won wisdom. Names familiar from the Harry Potter novels sprinkle the pages, including Aberforth Dumbledore, Lucius Malfoy and his forebears, and Sir Nicholas deMimsy-Porpington (or “Nearly Headless Nick”), as well as other professors at Hogwarts and the past owners of the Elder Wand. Dumbledore tells us of incidents unique to the Wizarding world, like hilariously troubled theatrical productions at Hogwarts or the dangers of having a “hairy heart.” But he also reveals aspects of the Wizarding world that his Muggle readers might find all too familiar, like censorship, intolerance, and questions about the deepest mysteries in life.
But not only are these tales the equal of fairy tales we now know and love, reading them gives new insight into the world of Harry Potter. This purchase also represents another very important form of giving: From every sale of this book, Scholastic will give its net proceeds to The Children’s High Level Group, a charity cofounded in 2005 by J. K. Rowling and Emma Nicholson MEP to make life better for vulnerable children.

Brisingr Coming to India on 20-Sep-2008
Brisingr is Book Number 3 of the Inheritance Cycle, penned by Christopher Paolini. Paolini started writing Eragon in 1998, when he was barely 15 years old. After revising it, his family self-published it, and started promoting the book in libraries and schools in 2002 and early 2003. Alfred A. Knopf Books For Young Readers, an imprint of Random House Children’s Books published Eragon in 2003 and since then, it has been one of the biggest hits with children and young adults world-wide. Paolini initially announced the series of stories as an Inheritance Trilogy of 3 books, but since the author felt that his story needs one more book to give justice to the plot, he expanded it into an Inheritance Cycle of 4 books. Book 2 was Eldest and was also a huge hit. Brisingr is Book 3, and its already topping the pre-order charts in bookstores all over the world.
Its release is much awaited in India as well, and TheStorez.com is happy to make it available for shipping on the first day of its launch in India, on Sep 20, 2008. To know more about Brisingr, hear Paolini read an extract from Brisingr, and pre-order your copy at a special 35% off, visit Brisingr @ TheStorez.com. To know more of Inheritance Cycle Books 1 and 2, visit Eragon and Eldest.
